This bill lets cities and counties use body cameras for code inspectors, but only with clear rules. Agencies must set policies on who can wear cameras, when they can record, and how videos are kept and shared. Inspectors may record any public encounter while on duty. Staff must be trained records kept under public records laws, and practices reviewed. Wiretap rules won’t block these recordings. Expect more transparency, evidence in disputes, and some privacy concerns.
