This bill would require the President to pull U.S. forces out of fighting with Iran unless Congress clearly approves military action. It still allows limited action to defend the United States or allies from an immediate attack. If passed, it would reduce the chance of a wider war, put Congress more directly in charge of major military decisions, and could lower risks to U.S. troops, while limiting the President’s ability to act alone.
