This bill moves Arizona’s 2026 primary to July 21 and sets future primaries for the second-to-last Tuesday in July. It shortens the period for voters to fix provisional ballot issues—reducing it from 10 business days to 7 calendar days for federal general elections, and from 5 business days to 5 calendar days for other elections. The bill also allows party observers at more locations, including early voting, emergency voting, voting centers, and ballot replacement sites, as long as they are registered Arizona voters. Petitions and election matters with the old August primary date will automatically shift to July, and those petitions remain valid.
