This bill would require most employers, including many public employers, to give workers 1 hour of paid vacation for every 25 hours worked, up to 80 hours a year. Workers could use it for any reason, carry over 40 hours, and get paid for unused time when they leave a job. Employers could not punish workers for using it. The bill would give millions more time to rest and handle life needs, but would raise labor costs and scheduling duties for employers.
