Original LAW Act would sharply raise the federal minimum wage from today’s level to $10.59 in 2026, then step it up each year to $26.59 by 2030. After that, it would be reset every 7 years based on what it takes for a renter family of four with two children to live 40% above poverty, and it could never go down. This could boost pay and reduce poverty and housing strain for low-wage workers, while increasing labor costs for employers.
