This constitutional amendment would let a president be elected up to three times instead of two, but not for a third term in a row after serving two straight terms. A vice president or successor who serves more than two years of another president’s term could still be elected only twice. This could keep popular presidents in public life longer, reduce leadership turnover, and reshape future presidential elections.
