This bill prohibits the use of federal funds to deploy on-duty or uniformed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), or National Guard personnel within one-quarter mile of polling locations during voting periods. It also forbids these agencies from using federal resources to establish checkpoints or otherwise impede eligible voters’ access to their polling sites. These restrictions apply only to federal funds and active voting periods, and do not include off-duty or out-of-uniform personnel or state and local resources. The bill does not specify enforcement provisions, penalties, or exceptions.
