Would bar grocery stores from charging unfairly high prices and from using shoppers’ personal data, including face scans, to set different prices for different people. Large stores would have to stop using digital shelf price tags and post signs if they use facial recognition. The FTC states, and shoppers could enforce the rules, which could lower surprise price spikes, protect privacy, and make grocery pricing more transparent and equal.
