Bill shields sport shooting ranges from noise lawsuits and criminal charges if they follow standard operating practices and the noise rules that applied when they were built. This protection still applies if ranges add safety or environmental upgrades or expand. State noise limits won't apply to covered ranges. Existing ranges can keep operating despite new local ordinances, repair or rebuild within their site, and grow events and membership. Neighbors would have fewer ways to stop noise.
