About the Organization

350.org is an international grassroots climate organization founded in 2007–2008 that builds public pressure to end fossil fuel use, accelerate the transition to renewable energy, and advance climate justice; its name refers to the 350 parts per million target for atmospheric CO2 and it runs global campaigns, mass mobilizations, and local organizing to influence policy and public institutions.

Policy Goals

Campaigns to phase out fossil fuels and block new fossil infrastructure (pipelines, coal and oil projects), fossil-fuel divestment and institutional investment reform, promotion of renewable energy and a just transition for workers and frontline communities, opposition to fossil fuel subsidies, and support for strong emissions-reduction targets and climate justice policies

Funding

Primarily individual donor contributions supplemented by grants from philanthropic foundations and institutional funders
