About the Organization

The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is a U.S.-based non-profit think tank and advocacy organization that produces research, public education, and policy recommendations to advance intersectional approaches to racial and gender justice, with a particular focus on the experiences of Black women and girls and other marginalized communities.

Policy Goals

Intersectional racial and gender equity across criminal justice and policing accountability, anti-violence and gender-based policy, education, health and reproductive justice, economic inclusion and labor policy, and civil-rights and anti-discrimination legislation and enforcement

Funding

Primarily philanthropic support including foundation grants, institutional project grants, and individual donations

Affiliates

Led and founded by prominent scholars and activists including Kimberlé Crenshaw; known for the #SayHerName initiative and partnerships with academic institutions, civil-rights organizations, and policy advocacy groups
