About the Organization

Alaska Wilderness League Action is the political advocacy arm of the Alaska Wilderness League that mobilizes voters and lobbies elected officials to protect Alaska’s federal public lands, wildlife habitat, and wild places from industrial development and to advance conservation and climate-related policies affecting Alaska.

Policy Goals

Seeks federal protections and wilderness designations for Alaska lands, opposes oil and gas drilling and large-scale mining in sensitive public lands (including areas like the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and Tongass), promotes wildlife and habitat conservation, and supports climate and public-lands management policies that limit fossil-fuel development in Alaska.
