About the Organization

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) is a national cross-disability civil rights organization dedicated to advancing the political and economic power of people with disabilities. Its mission is to promote equal opportunity, economic self-sufficiency, independent living, and political participation for individuals with disabilities.

Policy Goals

Disability civil rights enforcement, voting accessibility, healthcare access, employment and workforce inclusion, accessible transportation, technology accessibility, education equity, and implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Funding

Foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and program partnerships.

Affiliates

REV UP (Register, Educate, Vote, Use your Power) Campaign, Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund, National Council on Independent Living, and other national disability advocacy organizations.
