The Virginia section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is the state-level professional association representing obstetrician-gynecologists in Virginia. It advances evidence-based clinical practice, professional education, and public policy to improve reproductive, prenatal, and gynecologic health for people across the state.
Promotes evidence-based reproductive and maternal health policies including clinical best practices, access to contraception and prenatal care, maternity care and Medicaid coverage, measures to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality, medical education and workforce development, and health equity initiatives for underserved populations.
Primarily funded by member dues and fees for continuing medical education and conferences, supplemented by grants, philanthropic contributions, and revenue from publications and educational programs.
