The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) is a national trade association representing the animal feed industry in the United States. Its mission is to support and advance the business, legislative, and regulatory interests of companies that manufacture and distribute animal feed and pet food, while promoting safe, sustainable, and efficient animal nutrition practices.
AFIA typically pursues legislative and regulatory policies related to animal nutrition, feed and pet food safety standards, agricultural and livestock policy, international trade, ingredient approvals, labeling requirements, environmental regulations, and supply chain issues affecting feed manufacturing and distribution.
AFIA is primarily funded through membership dues, conferences and event revenue, sponsorships, and industry program fees from member companies in the animal feed and pet food sectors.
AFIA’s membership includes feed manufacturers, pet food companies, ingredient suppliers, pharmaceutical companies, equipment manufacturers, and state and regional feed associations.
