About the Organization

The American Mushroom Institute (AMI) is a national trade association representing growers, processors, and marketers of cultivated mushrooms in the United States. Its mission is to promote the economic and environmental sustainability of the mushroom industry through research, public policy advocacy, food safety standards, and consumer education.

Policy Goals

Agricultural policy, specialty crop research funding, food safety regulations, labor and workforce policy, immigration reform affecting agricultural labor, environmental sustainability standards, and domestic and international trade policy impacting specialty crops.

Funding

Membership dues from mushroom growers, processors, and industry partners, along with industry program funding and grants.

Affiliates

U.S. mushroom growers and processors, the Mushroom Council, and regional mushroom grower associations.
