The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a professional association representing civil engineers in the United States and internationally. Founded in 1852, its mission is to advance the civil engineering profession and serve the public good by promoting infrastructure investment, sustainability, public safety, and professional excellence.
ASCE typically pursues legislative policies related to infrastructure investment, transportation, water resources, resilience and disaster mitigation, environmental protection, sustainability, engineering standards, research funding, and workforce development in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
