Americans for Financial Reform (AFR) is a coalition of consumer, labor, civil rights, community, investor, faith-based, and civic organizations formed in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis to advocate for a strong, stable, and accountable financial system. The organization works to promote financial reforms that protect consumers, investors, and the broader economy from abusive and risky financial practices.
AFR advocates for stronger financial regulation, consumer financial protection, oversight of Wall Street and large financial institutions, corporate accountability, fair lending practices, economic justice, and measures to reduce systemic financial risk.
