About the Organization

The Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA) is a national organization of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) trade union members and allies that organizes AAPI workers for labor rights, racial and economic justice, immigrant worker protections, and greater political representation; it serves as the AFL-CIO’s primary AAPI constituency group and mobilizes members for collective bargaining, advocacy, and community outreach.

Policy Goals

Collective bargaining and union organizing, worker and immigrant protections, anti-discrimination and civil rights policies, economic justice and living-wage legislation, workplace safety and health, access to healthcare and public benefits, voting rights and civic engagement

Funding

Membership dues, financial support and contributions from affiliated unions, grants and donations from foundations and individual donors, fundraising and event revenue
