The Association of American Universities (AAU) is an organization of leading research universities in the United States and Canada dedicated to advancing higher education, research, and innovation. Founded in 1900, AAU focuses on promoting strong federal support for scientific research, graduate and undergraduate education, and policies that strengthen research universities’ contributions to society.
