Description: The Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) is a national nonprofit membership organization that represents and supports state, territorial and local maternal and child health (MCH) agencies and their leaders. AMCHP’s mission is to advance the health of mothers, children, adolescents and their families through policy, programs, research, training and leadership development. Type: Nonprofit membership association (national public health organization) Policies: Advocacy and technical leadership on maternal and child health policy at state and federal levels including Title V MCH services, Medicaid and CHIP policy affecting pregnant people and children, maternal mortality and morbidity prevention, perinatal quality improvement, home visiting, newborn screening, early childhood systems, reproductive and family planning services, adolescent health, behavioral health and substance use in pregnancy, health equity and workforce development, data systems and performance measurement. Funding: Primarily funded by membership dues from state and territorial MCH agencies, federal and foundation grants and contracts, program service revenue, and philanthropic contributions. Affiliates: Regular partners and collaborators include state and territorial MCH directors, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (HRSA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention programs, Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), March of Dimes, American Academy of Pediatrics, CityMatCH and other national MCH advocacy and professional organizations.
