The Association of Washington Healthcare Plans (AWHP) is a state-level trade association that represents health insurers and managed care organizations doing business in Washington State. AWHP advocates for policies intended to improve access to affordable, high-quality health care, coordinate with state agencies and stakeholders, and provide research, education, and a collective voice for member health plans.
State health care regulation and oversight, Medicaid managed care policy, commercial insurance market rules, payment and delivery system reform (including value-based purchasing), network adequacy and provider relations, behavioral health integration, telehealth policy, affordability and cost-containment measures, and implementation of state health program changes.
Primarily funded by membership dues and fees from health plans and managed care organizations, with additional revenue from sponsorships and event fees.
Member health plans and managed care organizations operating in Washington State, plus partner stakeholders such as provider groups, state health agencies, consumer advocacy organizations, and other health policy organizations.
