About the Organization

The California Bankers Association is a non-profit trade association that represents California-chartered and other banks operating in the state, advocating for the banking industry and promoting sound public policy, regulatory clarity, and professional education and resources for member institutions.

Policy Goals

Advocates on banking and financial services regulation, consumer finance and deposit matters, housing and mortgage policy, small-business lending, fintech and payments regulation, cybersecurity and data protection, tax and economic development issues, and regulatory compliance and supervision.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues and assessments from member banks and financial institutions, supplemented by event fees, sponsorships, and revenue from educational programs.

Affiliates

Works closely with the American Bankers Association, regional and community bank coalitions, and engages regularly with state regulators such as the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation and federal banking agencies.
