About the Organization

Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is a U.S.-based nonprofit public health advocacy organization that works to reduce tobacco use and its health harms by preventing youth initiation, promoting cessation, exposing tobacco industry practices, and advancing evidence-based tobacco control policy domestically and internationally.

Policy Goals

Higher tobacco taxes, comprehensive smoke-free laws, restrictions on tobacco marketing and sales including flavor and menthol bans, regulation of e-cigarettes and vaping products, raising the minimum purchase age (Tobacco 21), funding for tobacco prevention and cessation programs, and enforcement of industry regulation.

Funding

Primarily foundation grants and private donations; the organization states it accepts no government or tobacco industry funding and has received major philanthropic support historically from foundations such as Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Affiliates

Tobacco-Free Kids Action Fund (affiliated 501(c)(4) advocacy arm), the Global Health Advocacy Incubator (program), founding and partner organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association, and leaders including President Matthew L. Myers and founder Bill Novelli.
