Central Valley NOW is a regional chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) that organizes activists in California’s Central Valley to advance women’s rights and gender equality through local advocacy, public education, community outreach, and grassroots organizing. The chapter focuses on protecting reproductive freedom, ending gender-based violence, expanding economic and workplace equity, and increasing political participation for women and marginalized genders in the Central Valley.
Advocates for reproductive rights and access to abortion and contraception, gender pay equity and workplace protections, anti-violence and survivor support policies, LGBTQ+ equality, expansion of health care access, passage and enforcement of anti-discrimination laws, support for the Equal Rights Amendment and civic engagement initiatives to increase women’s political representation.
Primarily supported by membership dues and small-dollar donations, local fundraising events, occasional grants and in-kind support from volunteer networks and allied organizations.
