Citizen Action of New York is a grassroots membership organization that mobilizes New Yorkers around progressive social, economic, and racial justice issues. It focuses on building political power through organizing, advocacy, and electoral engagement.
Quality public education and after-school programs, affordable health care, public financing of elections and voting rights, criminal justice reform, racial justice, environmental justice, housing, and a more progressive tax system.
Primarily supported by member dues, individual donations, and philanthropic or campaign-related contributions typical of a membership-based advocacy organization.
We Are New York Values, NY Renews, and affiliated local chapters and community organizers; prominent leader Rosemary Rivera has been publicly associated with the organization.
