About the Organization

Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana is a grassroots consumer and environmental advocacy organization founded in 1974. It works to improve the quality of life for Hoosiers through public policy advocacy on democracy, natural resources, environmental protection, utility issues, and access to essential human services.

Policy Goals

Energy policy, utility reform, consumer protection, environmental protection, pollution prevention, health care, family farms, democracy and public-interest advocacy

Funding

Primarily supported by member contributions, donations, and organizational support for advocacy activities; it also operates an affiliated education fund

Affiliates

Founded by a coalition of organizations, churches, labor unions, and senior groups; affiliated with CAC Education Fund; prominent leaders include Executive Director Kerwin Olson and Program Director Ben Inskeep
