About the Organization

The Colorado Rural Electric Association (CREA) is a statewide trade association representing Colorado’s member-owned rural electric cooperatives. Its mission is to support and advocate for electric cooperatives by promoting reliable, affordable, and safe electric service to rural communities across Colorado.

Policy Goals

Energy regulation, rural electric infrastructure development, utility governance, renewable energy integration, electric grid reliability, wildfire mitigation, broadband expansion, and state and federal policies affecting electric cooperatives and rural communities.

Funding

Membership dues from Colorado’s rural electric cooperatives and related service revenues.

Affiliates

Member rural electric cooperatives across Colorado; National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA); Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association.
