The Consortium for Common Food Names (CCFN) is an international alliance founded in 2012 that advocates for the protection of generic food and beverage names in global markets. The organization works with agricultural producers, trade officials, and intellectual property stakeholders to oppose what it views as the monopolization of common food names through overly broad geographical indication (GI) protections, particularly in international trade agreements.
International trade policy, intellectual property law, geographical indications, market access for agricultural and food products, and opposition to restrictive labeling regulations that limit the use of generic food names.
