Creation Justice Ministries is an ecumenical nonprofit that educates, equips, and mobilizes Christian individuals, congregations, denominations, and communions in the United States to protect, restore, and rightly share God’s creation. The organization represents the creation-care and environmental justice concerns of major Protestant and Orthodox bodies, provides theological resources and training, and conducts grassroots and policy advocacy on climate, public lands, water, and related justice issues.
Advocacy for environmental protection and climate policy, a just energy transition, public lands and ocean conservation, freshwater and pollution controls, and environmental justice that centers racial and economic equity; faith-rooted legislative and regulatory engagement at federal, state, and local levels and theological education for congregational action.
Primarily funded by donations from congregations and individual supporters, grants from foundations and denominational partners, and program-specific grants and sponsorships.
Works in partnership with and represents member communions and partners such as the United Church of Christ, Presbyterian Church (USA), Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Disciples of Christ/Disciples Home Missions, the National Council of Churches, Orthodox communions, and other faith-based environmental networks.
