Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action is a U.S.-based Jewish grassroots nonprofit that mobilizes Jewish communities to confront the climate crisis by combining Jewish learning and values with public advocacy, direct action, and community organizing to advance climate justice and a rapid, equitable transition away from fossil fuels.
Typically pursues climate justice and environmental policies including fossil fuel divestment, rapid greenhouse gas emissions reductions, support for equitable transition programs (Green New Deal–style policies), protections for frontline communities, and state and federal legislative advocacy paired with community organizing and faith-based education.
Primarily funded by individual donations and member contributions, supplemented by grants from philanthropic foundations that support faith-based and climate justice work.
Partners with Jewish congregations and rabbinical leaders, other Jewish climate and social-justice organizations, local climate coalitions, and faith-based and progressive environmental allies.
