The Department for Professional Employees, AFL-CIO (DPE) is a coalition of national unions representing professional and technical workers. As a department of the AFL-CIO, it advocates for the interests of professionals across a wide range of fields, promoting collective bargaining rights, workplace protections, and policies that support high standards in professional practice.
Labor rights, collective bargaining, workplace health and safety, fair wages and benefits, professional standards, retirement security, healthcare access, and public investment in professional services and infrastructure.
Funded primarily through dues and contributions from its affiliated national unions.
Affiliated with the AFL-CIO and composed of more than 20 national unions representing professionals, including organizations such as the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), and the Communications Workers of America (CWA).
