Equal Ground is a Colombo-based non-profit advocacy organisation founded in 2004 that works to advance the civil, political, social and economic rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) people in Sri Lanka through legal advocacy, public education, community support services and strategic partnerships.
Legal reform and strategic litigation (including decriminalisation), anti-discrimination and human rights protections, access to health and mental-health services, gender identity recognition, public awareness and education, and diversity, equity and inclusion programs for the private sector and public institutions.
Primarily funded by grants from international philanthropic foundations and bilateral donors, supplemented by private donations, project grants and fee-for-service training/consultancy income.
