The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) is the public policy arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. It advocates for the application of biblical principles to moral, cultural, and public policy issues, engaging in advocacy, education, and public engagement on matters affecting religious liberty, human dignity, and family life.
Religious liberty protections, pro-life legislation, marriage and family policy, human dignity issues, immigration reform, criminal justice reform, and opposition to abortion and certain LGBTQ+ rights policies.
Primarily funded through the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program, which is supported by contributions from affiliated Southern Baptist churches.
