The Executive Office of the President (EOP), commonly referred to as the White House or the Administration, supports the President of the United States in carrying out executive duties and implementing federal law. Established in 1939, the EOP includes multiple offices and councils that advise the President on domestic policy, national security, economic policy, communications, management, and other matters central to the operation of the federal government.
Advances and implements the President’s legislative agenda across all areas of federal policy, including budget and appropriations, national security and foreign affairs, economic policy, healthcare, energy, education, immigration, civil rights, and regulatory policy.
Funded through annual appropriations enacted by Congress as part of the federal budget.
Includes the White House Office, Office of Management and Budget, National Security Council, Council of Economic Advisers, Domestic Policy Council, Office of the United States Trade Representative, and other components of the Executive Office of the President.
