Florida Policy Institute is an independent, non-profit research and advocacy organization that produces policy analysis, builds coalitions, and conducts outreach to advance state policies and budgets intended to improve economic mobility and quality of life for Floridians.
State-level policy research and advocacy on health care and Medicaid expansion, safety-net programs, K–12 and early learning, affordable housing, jobs and income, tax and budget fairness, environmental protection and infrastructure, criminal justice reform, immigration, and related social policy issues.
Primarily funded by philanthropic foundation grants and individual donations; has received support from national and regional foundations and charitable funds.
Partner foundations and policy networks such as the Ford Foundation, Annie E. Casey Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation and Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation; senior leadership and public-facing experts include CEO Sadaf Knight and senior policy analysts (e.g., Norín Dollard).
