Gender Justice League is a Seattle-based civil and human rights organization that advocates for TwoSpirit, transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse people through grassroots organizing, policy advocacy, impact litigation, direct services (including emergency shelter coordination and financial assistance), leadership development, and community events such as Trans Pride Seattle. Its work centers racial, economic, and disability justice while opposing anti-trans legislation and promoting inclusive local and state policies.
Advocacy for anti-discrimination protections for transgender and gender-diverse people, access to gender-affirming healthcare, protections in public accommodations and schools, gender-based violence survivor services, housing and homelessness supports, criminal justice and decarceration reforms, tenants' rights and economic justice, and opposing anti-trans state and local legislation and ballot initiatives.
Primarily funded through a mix of individual donations, philanthropic foundation grants, fundraising events, program fees and contracts, and public grants or municipal/county funding support.
