About the Organization

A binational coalition of municipal, Tribal, and First Nation leaders from the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River region that works to advance economic prosperity while protecting and restoring freshwater resources, waterfronts, and community resilience.

Policy Goals

Great Lakes and St. Lawrence water protection, freshwater conservation, climate resilience, coastal and waterfront restoration, municipal infrastructure, economic development, and cross-border regional policy affecting local governments.

Funding

Primarily membership contributions, supplemented by grants and philanthropic support from foundations and government partners.

Affiliates

U.S. and Canadian mayors and local officials; Tribal and First Nation government leaders; partners and funders including the Joyce Foundation, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, Fred and Barbara Erb Family Foundation, Crown Family Philanthropies, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Fund for Lake Michigan, Wege Foundation, NOAA Office for Coastal Management, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Government of Canada, and Government of Ontario.
