The Good Government Group is HCA Healthcare’s employee-based grassroots government relations and advocacy program. Its mission is to inform, engage, and mobilize HCA colleagues around state and federal public policy and elections issues that affect hospitals, patient care, workforce and community health, and to facilitate constituent outreach to elected officials on those issues.
Hospital industry priorities including Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement, state funding and regulatory issues, graduate medical education and workforce policy, hospital licensing and facility expansion, liability and tort reform, scope-of-practice and professional regulation, telehealth and emergency care policy, and other policies that affect health system operations and patient access
Funded and supported by HCA Healthcare through its government relations and corporate affairs budget, with in-kind support from employee participation; separate HCA PACs and political committees are funded by employee contributions and operate under separate rules
