About the Organization

Healthy Families America (HFA) is a nationally recognized, evidence-informed home visiting model that works with expectant parents and families with infants and toddlers to prevent child abuse, strengthen parent–child relationships, and promote healthy child development through voluntary, in‑home visits, screening, and connections to community services.

Policy Goals

Advocates for investments in early childhood and family support programs, sustainable funding for evidence‑based home visiting (including federal MIECHV and state funding), maternal and child health initiatives, child abuse prevention, workforce training for home visitors, and policies improving access to supportive social services for families with young children.

Funding

Primarily funded by a mix of federal and state government grants (including home‑visiting funding streams), foundation and philanthropic grants, Medicaid or other public reimbursement in some jurisdictions, and private donations or local program funding.

Affiliates

Prevent Child Abuse America (national office host), local Healthy Families program sites across states and territories, state and local health and child welfare agencies, and national early childhood/home visiting coalitions and partners.
