Illinois Crop Improvement Association, Inc. (ICIA) is a Champaign-based agricultural organization founded in 1922 that serves as the official seed certification agency for the State of Illinois. Operating under authority granted by the Illinois Department of Agriculture and the University of Illinois, ICIA provides seed testing, certification, trait evaluation, and identity preservation services to support plant breeders, seed companies, and agricultural producers. Its mission is to maintain genetic purity, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance in seed production while accelerating the development and commercialization of improved crop varieties.
