The Independent Living Center of the Hudson Valley is a community-based nonprofit organization that promotes independence, self-advocacy, and equal opportunity for people with disabilities. It provides services such as peer support, advocacy, independent living skills training, information and referral, and assistance with housing and benefits to help individuals with disabilities live independently in their communities.
Disability rights, community-based long-term care, accessible and affordable housing, transportation accessibility, healthcare access, Medicaid and home- and community-based services, employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act
Primarily funded through government grants and contracts, along with private donations and foundation support
