The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) is a labor union representing electricians and other workers in the electrical, telecommunications, broadcasting, and energy industries across the United States and Canada. Founded in 1891, its mission is to advocate for fair wages, safe working conditions, quality training, and strong labor standards for its members.
IBEW typically supports legislation related to labor rights, collective bargaining protections, prevailing wage laws, workplace safety standards, infrastructure investment, energy and utility regulation, apprenticeship and workforce development programs, and pro-union labor policies.
The organization is primarily funded through member dues and fees.
