The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) is a labor union representing workers in the finishing trades, including painters, drywall finishers, glaziers, glass workers, floor covering installers, and related construction and public-sector trades. Its mission is to organize workers, negotiate collectively, provide training and apprenticeship opportunities, and advocate for safer workplaces, fair wages, and worker dignity.
Worker rights, collective bargaining, apprenticeship and workforce training, workplace safety, wage theft prevention, misclassification enforcement, immigration and labor protections, and broader pro-labor legislation affecting construction and skilled trades.
Primarily funded by member dues and related union assessments, along with revenue from affiliated training, benefit, and trust funds.
