The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) is a labor union representing painters, glaziers, drywall finishers, floor covering installers, and other finishing trades workers across the United States and Canada. Its mission is to protect and advance the rights, wages, benefits, and working conditions of its members through collective bargaining, training, and political advocacy.
IUPAT typically pursues policies related to labor rights, prevailing wage laws, workplace safety standards, apprenticeship and workforce development programs, project labor agreements, collective bargaining protections, retirement security, and infrastructure investment.
The organization is primarily funded through membership dues and fees.
