Indiana Youth Group (IYG) is a nonprofit that provides support, programs, and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning and allied (LGBTQ+) young people across Indiana, operating drop-in centers, peer-support groups, counseling referrals, leadership and education programs, and community outreach to improve youth safety, mental health, and opportunity.
Typically pursues policies that expand protections and supports for LGBTQ+ youth, including inclusive school policies and student groups, anti-bullying and anti-discrimination measures, access to affirming mental and sexual health services, youth homelessness prevention, and family- and community-based supports and resources.
Primarily funded through a mix of individual donations, philanthropic foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, community fundraising events, and government grants or contracts.
Works in partnership with local schools and school districts, community health and social service providers, statewide LGBTQ coalitions and national youth-serving organizations, and local youth advocates and nonprofit leaders.
