About the Organization

The Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health is an academic research and policy institute housed in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. Founded in 1990, it conducts and translates research, produces policy analysis, publishes the peer‑reviewed journal Women’s Health Issues, and convenes stakeholders to improve health across the lifespan for U.S. women with attention to equity and evidence.

Policy Goals

Evidence‑based women’s health and reproductive health policy, maternal and perinatal health, family planning and contraception access, health care financing and insurance coverage related to women, health equity and disparities, public health research integrity and workforce training

Funding

Primarily supported through university resources and administration, competitive federal and foundation research grants, philanthropic gifts and donations, and revenue associated with publications and sponsored programs
