The League of Women Voters Gun Violence Prevention Committee is an internal committee of the nonpartisan League of Women Voters that focuses on reducing gun violence through public education, position development, member mobilization, and advocacy for evidence-based policy reforms.
Advocates for gun violence prevention and public safety policies such as universal background checks, safe storage requirements, extreme risk protection laws, improved data collection and research, community violence intervention, and voter education on related issues.
Primarily funded through League membership dues, individual donations, grants and philanthropic support directed to the League, and the League's internal budget allocations.
Affiliated with the League of Women Voters at the national, state, and local levels and frequently collaborates with other gun violence prevention and public health organizations in coalition efforts.
