The Massachusetts Republican Party (MassGOP) is the state-level affiliate of the U.S. Republican Party. It organizes and coordinates Republican candidates and campaigns across Massachusetts, conducts voter outreach and recruitment, raises funds, develops messaging on state and local issues, and works to elect Republicans to municipal, legislative, and federal offices. The party was founded in 1854 and operates through a state committee and local town/county Republican organizations, with headquarters in Boston.
Typically pursues conservative and pro-growth policy priorities, including fiscal restraint and tax relief, reduced regulatory burden and support for small businesses, public safety and support for law enforcement, education reform and school choice, measures framed as election integrity, and candidate recruitment and campaign support for Republican officeholders.
Primarily funded by individual contributions and small-dollar donors, fundraising events and direct appeals, transfers or support from national party organizations and allied PACs, and contributions from major donors and local party fundraising channels.
Affiliated with the national Republican Party and the Republican National Committee; coordinates with county and town Republican committees and the Republican legislative caucuses in the Massachusetts Legislature. Current prominent party figures include Chair Amy Carnevale and Republican legislative leaders such as State Senate Republican Leader Bruce Tarr and House Republican Leader Bradley Jones.
