The Michigan Soybean Association (MSA) is a statewide membership organization representing Michigan soybean producers. Founded in 1974, it advocates on behalf of soybean farmers at the state and national levels through lobbying, legislative engagement, and public outreach to improve the profitability and sustainability of Michigan’s soybean industry.
MSA pursues agricultural and rural policy priorities including farm bill programs, trade and export policy, biofuels and biodiesel legislation, transportation and infrastructure, energy policy, water quality and environmental regulations, and promotion of biobased products and aquaculture markets.
Primarily funded through membership dues and program service revenue from Michigan soybean producers, with contracted administrative support from the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee.
Affiliated with the American Soybean Association; works closely with the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee and participates in coalitions such as the Michigan Advanced Biofuels Coalition.
